For beginners and yogis who want to come back to the source. Emphasis in on the breath and alignment with a smooth and gentle approach.

INTERMEDIATE

For students who are familiar with basic postures and alignment. In this class we explore the power of the bandas, handstands and arm balance as well as safely introduce advanced poses.

OPEN

For students of all levels, a flow where variations are indicated and where one pose is built on another.

ASHTANGA

Ashtanga Yoga is a set series of yoga postures that are strung together using the vinyasa breathing system in order to increase strength, flexibility and balance in the body and the mind.  Ashtanga is an intense and invigorating form of yoga that emphasizes the natural relationship between breath and movement. When practiced consistently and correctly, Ashtanga yoga can help clear the energetic and spiritual body as well as cleanse and realign the physical body.  The primary series, yoga chikitsa, promotes proper alignment and purification of the body. Ashtanga literally means eight limbs.  In the Yoga Sutra's, Patanjali describes these limbs as:  abstinence, observance, posture, breath control, sense withdrawal, concentration, meditation, and absorption
