MÉLANIE CHEVARIE is a passionate teacher who integrates her love for sequencing, anatomy and Buddhist meditation into her yoga classes and workshops. She started practicing Hatha yoga in 1992, inspiring her to travel to Southeast Asia, India, Nepal and Tibet for a year in 1996. Thereafter, Melanie moved to New York City, where she completed her first 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training at Laughing Lotus in 2001, followed by a Pre-Natal Yoga Teacher Training with Janice Clarfield in 2002, and a second 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training at OM Yoga Center in 2005. During her stay in New York, she also co-founded Kusala Yoga Center in Brooklyn in 2003, which allowed her to share her extensive experience in the different styles of yoga, including Vinyasa, Ashtanga, Anusara and Iyengar. Mélanie has since moved to Montreal where she added to her quaslifications a second Pre-Natal Teacher Training from Dr. Bernadette de Gaspé in 2010. In addition to having a full yoga teaching schedule that includes all levels of yoga from Beginners to Advanced, she also gives various workshops and co-teaches Yoga Teacher Trainings. Motivated by her deep knowledge of maternity, Mélanie has developed and taught Pre-Natal Yoga Teacher Trainings since 2008.

Mélanie has been seriously studying and practicing Buddhism for years, including participating in silent meditation retreats, studying ancient Buddhist texts in a group setting and leading Buddhist study and meditation sessions.

Mélanie is extremely talented at offering inspiring Dharma talks, which are captivating at every moment. She is also known for her unique ability to see the beauty in every living being. This warmth is often felt in her presence, leaving people feeling nurtured, un-judged and supported.
